Neons without blue spots: application rules

Neon gel polishes are bright, saturated shades that look especially impressive in summer designs. However, due to the high concentration of pigment, such colors require the correct application technique and polymerization. If you work with neons incorrectly, blue spots, uneven tone or shade change under the influence of sunlight may appear during wear.

To keep your neon coating clean, uniform, and stable, it is important to follow a few professional recommendations.

1. Stir the material thoroughly before application.
Before use, be sure to roll the bottle in your hands. Neon pigments have a dense structure and may settle to the bottom of the bottle over time. If the material is not mixed, the color may not be uniform, and the pigment may not be evenly distributed over the nail plate.
Gentle rolling helps evenly distribute the pigment in the gel polish without creating excess bubbles.

2. Use a light base
For neon shades, it is recommended to work on a white or milky base. A light base helps the color look brighter and cleaner, and also promotes more uniform polymerization of the material.
A white or milky base coat acts as a reflective base: it reflects light in the lamp and helps the dense pigment to polymerize better. This results in a more saturated, uniform and wear-resistant finish.

3. Apply gel polish in an even surface layer
It is important to apply neon gel polishes without applying too much pressure on the brush. If you press the brush too hard against the nail, the coating may form thin areas. These areas are often the first to react to sunlight: they lose saturation, change shade or appear as spots.
Work with light superficial movements, evenly distributing the material over the nail plate. The optimal layer thickness helps to obtain a pure color without gaps and differences.

4. Let the coating cool after polymerization
Sometimes, right after the lamp, the neon shade may appear patchy or uneven. This does not always mean that the material was applied incorrectly. In some cases, this effect occurs due to the thermal reaction during polymerization.
After drying, wait about 30 seconds for the nail to cool. As the coating cools, the tone may become more uniform.

5. Finish with a top coat with UV filters
For neon shades, it is especially important to use a top coat with UV filters. This top coat helps reduce the effect of sunlight on the organic dyes in the neon pigments.
UV filters absorb some of the ultraviolet radiation and help maintain the brightness of the color during wear. This reduces the risk of fading, discoloration and blue spots on the coating.

Neon gel polishes require careful, but not complicated, work techniques. To ensure that the color remains bright, uniform, and stable in the sun, it is enough to properly prepare the material, work on a light substrate, apply gel polish in an even surface layer, let the coating cool after the lamp, and finish the manicure with a top coat with UV filters.

Following these recommendations will help avoid blue stains, maintain the purity of the neon shade, and ensure a quality result when worn.
